Marist Brothers 21st General Chapter Marist Brothers' XXI General Chapter September 2009

Immersion Activity

On 25th March 2008 21 Brothers plus a lay co-ordinator arrived Bagong Silang (New Born) in the Province of Laguna for ten days of their immersion exposure. After a short orientation and warm welcome by the Barangay Councilors, the Brothers were divided into groups of three or four and were accommodated by their host families. During the ten days, the Brothers were engaged in different activities. Among them were construction of road, building a hut and fixing up water system in a near by village. Brothers also conducted Communion Service in the chapel there with about forty people from the village. It was really a privilege to witness the graduation of ten outgoing elementary students. Brothers returned to MAPAC with so much of feelings and emotions on 4th April 2008.

Our co-ordinators were Bros. Ralph and Roshan, Mr. Emerson Jacinto, a volunteer social worker at Bagong Silang and Mr. Al Obne. Next day there was an evaluation workshop in which Brothers shared their personal experiences and concerns.
