Sharing the Experiences of MAPAC
My experience of studying here in MAPAC
My experience of studies here in MAPAC is not that easy. I have to work extremely hard in order to archive very good results. I personally feel challenged because every subject requires a great effort to study hard and to do assignments to completion. There is also the feeling of happiness because I am learning and discovering new things which are significant to my life and also for future benefits to the young men and women that I’ll be working with. However, the most important key to my studies is prayer life and commitment in order to reach my goals.

How do I feel my studies at MAPAC?
At the beginning I felt pressured because of my schedule and the subjects. Sometimes I don’t know how to manage my time, my personal studies, and doing my assignments. As I go on with my studies I find it meaningful and enjoyable. Though I have difficulty in speaking English I myself have tried to cope with those challenges. I have been always asking myself that I need to go back to what I have started before. Actually I like to study if I like the subjects and also if I like the teachers. Now, whether I like it or not, I have to accept it because I am a Marist Brother. No matter what happens I have to accept and embrace it. That’s the spirit of being a Marist. Somehow it is not a matter of liking, but it is a matter of loving. “Love my subjects as I love my teachers.”

Life in MAPAC
When I was in Korea , I was afraid to go to the Philippines , because I’m not good in speaking English. I’m living in MAPAC now. Here life is very busy. I’m always busy with my homework. However I participate in all activities like Prayers, meetings, work and sports. I like to have some quite times and usually I find some time during the day. I find difficulty in communication. Sometimes I feel alone but the Brothers are very good; they come and talk to me. They help me to speak English. And they speak with me very slowly so that I can understand them. I’m very happy to be here in MAPAC.
Every Saturday I go to my AFA to L’.Arch. This place is for handicapped students. I usually clean their clothes and work in the garden. I try to talk to them but they don’t respond to me. I’m very happy when they smile at me. I used to go to the market in the afternoon and try to speak in Taglag but I find difficult to talk with them. I would like to learn the culture of the Philippines because it is very different from Korean culture. When I travel in a jeepney, I always see the buildings and the people. I am very interested to see them because their eyes are very pure and they always smile at people even though they do not know them. I hope I have given you a small picture of my experience here at MAPAC.
Thanks

The experience that I encounter in MAPAC is very wonderful and helpful for my religious life where I can discern more about my vocation. It is the first time for me to be with international students in my study.
I’m happy and proud with the Bothers and Sisters here in MAPAC who came from various places of the world such as Korea, Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and Philippines. Together we make our school a better place to learn. There is a time for everything; a time to be, to gather in sharing our knowledge, abilities, and talents. We have some time to be apart because we come from difference Congregations.
Some Brothers ask me, “Do you miss your family because you are far from them?” Let me say No!!! because we are living in God’s family today, in my Community, and here in the MAPAC community. As Jesus shared his life for us, so let us share his love with one another, for he is the way, the truth, and the life, and we know the Lord will make a way for us, for united we stand divided we fall.
